Introduction to Maanit's glass art

Maanit Rabinovich, is the owner of Maanit - Glass Art studio. Maanit specializes in creating artwork using glass fusing techniques - fusing colorful, special types of glass in a professional kiln at very high temperatures.

The Fusing process

Fusing techniques involve cutting, breaking and arranging pieces of different colored glass and then bonding them again. The result is a vibrant burst of color and the creative possibilities are virtually endless.

The Welding process

Another technique Maanit applies at the studio is welding sticks of colorful glass with a burner and bonding them to create beads.

The world of glass is colorful, magical and spectacular, and Maanit invites you to visit her gallery in Kida, situated amidst the clean mountain air and inspiring landscape.

“Careful - Broken Glass!”

You won’t be hearing anyone say that in Maanit’s studio! Here, we break, design with and even let you touch the colorful, bright pieces of broken glass.

Visiting Maanit's studio

During your visit at the studio, you can watch a demonstration using real fire and see how glass is welded and designed into beads, as well as creating a design with hot glass using the fusing technique (in a kiln).

Maanit's story

During the demonstration, Maanit shares the crafting process with the audience and speaks of the early days when the community of Kida was first established. She tells the story of her family and a few other members who transformed the small hilltop of just two caravans into a flourishing community.
